Venue Description:
The Royal Hospital Chelsea was founded by King Charles II and remains the home for old soldiers and Chelsea Pensioner's, the primary role for its establishment. Situated in 66 acres of glorious parkland the inspiring Wren Buildings exemplifies the greatness of English architecture. The site is truly a sanctuary in the centre of London. Constructed in 1782 the Great Hall still plays a key role of the Royal Hospital. Consisting of two main rooms, the council Chamber and Ante-Room, the State Apartments remains in its original stunning condition. The Council Chamber was designed by Wren and consists of spectacular oak-paneled walls. Inside there are a number of excellent paintings by Kneeler, Dyke and Lely.
