Established 1736, original features includes an impressive high-ceilinged palace with Victorian fittings.

The pub has been recently restored to its former glory with a full refurbishment in 2005 but keeping it’s traditional feel.

There is thought to have been an ale house on the site in the first half of the 18th century. Farmers brought cows to the outskirts of the city and herded them in Liverpool Street and the pub was nicknamed ‘The Cow Shed’.
