Westminster Boating Base is a unique venue, set in the very pretty Pimlico Gardens. The principal function rooms are linked over the atrium and the pavilion extends over the river, with floor to ceiling windows all round to provide dazzling views up and down the Thames. The Edgson room has a full length covered balcony to the river and is equipped with effects lights and speakers for music and dancing. The spacious open-plan building lends itself to a wide variety of theming and is highly flexible with regards to event timings and permits smoking. Recently the venue has been used as the setting for a number of block buster movies including ‘Love Actually’ staring Hugh Grant and Keira Knightly. As the Boating base is a charity, the venue hire fee for the rental of the building goes directly to the Trust. This is the way that the charity manages to meet its overheads - and many hirers have expressed satisfaction in knowing that part of the cost of their event is going to a good cause.

The venue is fully decorated during Christmas period with 30ft Christmas tree, star lighting, silver birch trees giving the venue a wonderful Christmas feel along with amazing views of the Thames and Battersea power station.
